Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. James D. Lax, who serves patients in New York, New York.

Dr. Lax is a board certified and fellowship trained gastroenterologist. He practices at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and is also affiliated with East Side Endoscopy, associated with Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

His areas of expertise encompass abdominal pain, diarrhea, digestive system disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastrointestinal disorders, and stomach disorders.

Scholastically, Dr. Lax received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia College and pursued his medical studies at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. He then completed his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in gastroenterology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center.
