From Vision to Vitality: Dr. Bachireddy’s Impact on Lufkin’s Cardiology Hub in Deep East Texas

Dr. Ravinder Bachireddy is a highly distinguished cardiologist with a wealth of experience and expertise in cardiovascular medicine. 

Co-founding The Heart Institute of East Texas, P.A. in 1982 alongside Dr. J.S. Chandra, Dr. Bachireddy has been instrumental in revolutionizing heart care in Deep East Texas. Prior to the establishment of The Heart Institute, a significant portion of heart disease patients had to travel to Houston for specialized care. Thanks to Dr. Bachireddy and his group’s efforts, patients in East Texas now have access to cutting-edge heart care services closer to home.

Beyond his role at The Heart Institute, Dr. Bachireddy holds key leadership positions at Memorial Medical Center/CHI St. Luke’s Health-Memorial, where he serves as the Chief of Cardiology, Cardiovascular Service Line Chairman, and member of the Board of Directors. He is also a respected staff physician at Woodland Heights Medical Center.

Dr. Bachireddy’s academic journey began at Osmania Medical College, where he earned his Medical Degree in 1973. Following this, he completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Albert Einstein College Bronx/Lebanon Hospital between 1975 and 1980. 

Board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine, Dr. Bachireddy is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Moreover, he is a Diplomate of both the National Board of Echocardiography and the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.

Dr. Bachireddy’s commitment to excellence is evidenced by his numerous professional affiliations, including being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). He is also an active member of prestigious medical associations such as the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Bachireddy has amassed a remarkable array of accolades and awards for his outstanding contributions to the field of cardiology. Noteworthy achievements include leading the team at CHI St Luke’s Memorial to achieve Heart Care Center National Distinction of Excellence multiple times, receiving the Pioneer Award from the ACC, and securing Heart Failure Accreditation from ACC. Dr. Bachireddy has also been consistently recognized as the “Best Cardiologist” by the Lufkin Daily News Readers’ Choice for over a decade.

His dedication to advancing cardiovascular care extends beyond clinical practice. Dr. Bachireddy has been actively involved in community outreach and education initiatives, receiving grants to promote cardiovascular disease prevention in local communities. The Heart Institute of East Texas, under his guidance, has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Small Business of the Year accolades from both the Texas Forest Country and the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce.
