About

Dr. Virginia Rockhill is a psychologist practicing telehealth only in North Smithfield, RI. As a licensed Psychologist, she first prioritizes learning not only why a person is contacting her, but also to be able to relate to that person based on their individual needs and what are their expectations of therapy. She believes that we all need to have a sense of purpose or meaningfulness in our lives, something that our thoughts, emotions and life experiences contribute to the "heart" of our personalities. The process of healing from the challenges of life begins with a search for truth about our beliefs, habits and relationships. Physical health is affected by our mental health through the complex interactions between the brain and bodily functions. As a Psychologist, she has worked in private practice, long term care, and forensic and psychiatric hospitals. Even though these patient populations are diverse, the common denominator is the human "heart". Dr. Rockhill's sessions work to connect a person's sense of meaning in life to help them overcome anxiety, depression and a loss of personal identity in this complex world. Her work with many diverse populations, led her to write a young adult novel, “Unconditional: Encounters with Unexpected New Friends”. Inspired by Viktor Frankl’s “Logotherapy” and C.S Lewis’ “Chronicles of Narnia” series, the common animals who share the same environment talk and interact with one another, and learn that by combining their strengths they can overcome their vulnerabilities and find their true purpose in life. By working together, they are able to triumph their perseverance and avert an ecological disaster from occurring in their environment. Their personalities are engaging and delightful, and easy to relate to with their own perspectives about the world. Folding together the dynamics of family relationships, neurodiversity, determination and adventure, they demonstrate that having Faith and Trust in their combined efforts will lead them to preserve their beloved habitat and lives.
