Get to know Hospitalist & Family Physician Dr. Jordan D. Savov, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.
Dr. Savov is a board-certified family physician who is interested and devoted to hospital medicine. He is one of the Founders of Island Hospitalist Group in Venice, Florida. He loves the dynamics and the diversity of hospital medicine and caring for patients in an acute hospital setting is his passion and reward.
Since 2006, he has been serving as a hospitalist in several hospital systems in Southwest Florida, including Physicians Regional Medical Center – Collier Boulevard, Physicians Regional Medical Center – Pine Ridge, NCH Baker Hospital Downtown, North Naples Hospital, and Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Savov earned his medical degree from the Medical University of Sofia Bulgaria class of 1984. He holds a PhD in surfactant system of the lung from the same institution. In October 1996, he came to the United States as a research scientist at Duke University Medical Center – department of Pulmonary Medicine, where he spent seven years working on different pulmonary research projects and publications. He was granted a green card to stay and work in the US, due to his excellence in his field. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in family medicine through the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program, sponsored by Baptist Health.
With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending his time with his wife Nicole and two daughters 4-year old Bianca and 2.5-year old Sophia.
