Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Mujahid A. Hines, who serves patients in Roseville, California.

A board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in advanced refractive cataract surgery and LASIK, Dr. Hines is in practice with Nvision Eye Centers, serving patients at their Roseville location in California. 

He prides himself on offering his patients with the most advanced options for their visual needs, including laser assisted cataract surgery and premium lens options. He also provides comprehensive eye examinations and is skilled in the early detection and treatment of diabetes, glaucoma, and other ocular diseases.

Having performed over 2 million procedures, the surgeons at Nvision Eye Centers are the most experienced, educated, and caring professionals in the eye care industry. They use only the most advanced laser and diagnostic technology available, treating each individual with care and compassion while offering customized treatment plans to fit their specific needs.

Prior to joining Nvision Eye Centers, Dr. Hines was affiliated with Dallas Eye Care and LaserCare Eye Center.

Nowadays, alongside his clinical practice, he is the Medical Director of the Eye Surgery Center of Northern California. 

Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology/Biomedical Science, Dr. Hines received his medical degree with distinction from the University of Oklahoma Medical School where he was named the McKinley Williams Scholar of his graduating class. He subsequently completed his medical internship at Unity Health System in Rochester, New York and was recognized as Intern of the Year. He then went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the Flaum Eye Institute of the University of Rochester.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

Professionally, he is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Society.

Passionate about continuing his interest in patient education and community service, Dr. Hines frequently holds seminars for students interested in pursuing careers in the medical profession, and has published numerous scientific articles.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery. 

Selected as a SuperDoctor Rising Star by his regional physicians and Texas Monthly Magazine in 2016, 2017 and 2018, Dr. Hines has also received the Donald Halverstadt Scholarship, John C. Coburn Scholarship, and was inducted in the Gold Humanism Honors Society. 

Furthermore, he is the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2016), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2017).
