Dr. Melman is a trusted, board-certified dermatologist who has served patients at Aesthetic Dermatology, LLC with the highest quality of care since 2002. 

Aesthetic Dermatology, LLC, located in Woodbury, New York, is a comprehensive medical and cosmetic dermatology practice. It offers a full spectrum of medical and surgical care as well as aesthetic enhancement. From simple warts to complex skin disorders, the providers take the health of the skin very seriously. Their view is that the skin is not only the body’s largest organ, but a critical immunologic barrier that keeps one safe and healthy in their own environment. In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Melman holds teaching appointments at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and staff privileges at North Shore University Hospital in Syosset and Plainview.

Before entering medical school, he received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Economics from Washington University, where he was an Eliot Honors graduate and a member of several honor societies. In 1998, Dr. Melman graduated with his medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, where he was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. 

Thereafter, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center. This was followed by a residency in dermatology at New York Medical College, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year.

Throughout his training and practice experience, Dr. Melman has contributed to several leading dermatology publications. He also remains active in the following organizations: the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology (Fellow), the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, the largest organ of the body; a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.
