Can gum disease go away?
No, true periodontitis does not go away because periodontitis is bone loss. You cannot regrow bone, BUT, it can be controlled and managed with treatment and scrupulous homecare. The bacteria that causes the bone loss is almost impossible to completely eradicate from the mouth. Having been serving the Pikes Peak Region with exceptional individualized dental care since 1999, Dr. Vessel uses state-of-the-art equipment to treat gum disease, perform root canals, and restore smiles through surgical implants and cosmetic veneers. Together with her team of dental experts, she ensures comprehensive services for every member of the family, from a child’s first dental check up to crafting custom dentures for individuals at age 90, fostering the healthiest and most confident smiles possible.
After graduating from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Dr. Vessel obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1999 where she was a member of the OKU dental honor fraternity.
After moving back to Colorado Springs, Dr. Vessel began practicing with her father, Dr. Allen A. Vessel, DDS, in the established family business. She bought the practice in 2005 when her father retired.
Continuing education is a focus for improving the aspects of her dental career as is membership with the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Colorado Springs Dental Society component.
