Get to know Urologist Dr. Joe O. Littlejohn Jr., who serves patients in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Littlejohn Jr. is a knowledgeable urologist who enjoys making noticeable changes in a person’s health.
Specializing in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system, his areas of expertise include benign prostatic hypertrophy, general urology, neuromodulation therapies, robotic (da Vinci) surgery, urodynamics, bladder prolapse surgery, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, prostate cancer, ureteral stones, and voiding dysfunction.
After two back to back 12 hour days on call during Father’s Day weekend, and subsequently missing all the festivities in his honor, Dr. Littlejohn Jr. was determined to create a solution to help doctors more efficiently see their patients while also increasing quality of care. Thus, he founded LinkBox Solutions, LLC – a Health Technology company that seeks to incorporate the latest technological advances into the field of medicine.
More specifically, LinkBox Solutions, LLC offers a mobile software system that removes barriers between the physician and their patients, while automating the HPI documentation process.
How it works is that this user-friendly technology allows a practice to receive detailed information about their patients before their appointment, making patient care easier and faster than ever before. The program works as a “mobile scribe,” ensuring doctors have access to all necessary data the moment they need it.
Likewise, LinkBox generates question sets that are sent to the patients by the scheduling staff the moment their appointment is made (via email to register at their HIPAA/HITECH compliant, cyber-secure site). That way, when they come in for their appointment, all necessary information and relevant concerns are listed in one, easily accessible location.
Working in conjunction with EMR systems, LinkBox streamlines daily operations and helps doctors feel more on top of their work. With time-saving features, unparalleled privacy settings, and an affordable cost, the program strives to increase the quality of patient care and decrease physician burnout.
At its core, it delivers more satisfied patients as it offers doctors more time with their family, proving that “happier doctors equal happier patients.”
With a broad educational background, Dr. Littlejohn Jr. graduated with his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1995. He then went on to perform his internship in general surgery at the said establishment in 1997.
Furthering his training, he performed a residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut Health Center in 1997, a residency in urology at Howard University Hospital (District of Columbia) in 2001, and a fellowship in neuro-urology and voiding dysfunction at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2002.
A man of many titles, Dr. Littlejohn Jr. serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery within the Department of Urology at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Vice Chair of DEI within the Department of Urology at Penn State Health Technology, and as Director of TeleHealth within the Department of Urology at Penn State Health.
In affiliation with Penn State Health, he offers his services at Penn State Health Surgery Specialties (Hershey, Pennsylvania) & Penn State Health Medical Group – Camp Hill Specialties.
Continuously advancing his efforts with professional organizations, Dr. Littlejohn Jr. is an active member of the National Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urological Association, and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.
Urology is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
Upfront and honest regarding health-related matters, Dr. Littlejohn Jr. attributes his success to his belief in God and his Christian Faith.
On a more personal note, he speaks English and Spanish.
