Ascension St. John Medical Center proudly welcomes Dr. Heather Bell, an accomplished infectious disease specialist, to its esteemed team of healthcare professionals. With a wealth of experience in viral hepatitis, epidemiology, emerging infectious diseases, vaccines, and healthcare management, she brings a unique skill set that enhances the quality of care provided to patients in the Tulsa community.

In her multifaceted role, Dr. Bell serves as a beacon in Quality Improvement and Utilization Review, guiding fellow physicians in effective documentation and bridging the gap between clinical coding staff. She also holds faculty positions at prestigious institutions like Tufts Medical and the University of Tulsa, NP Program, and is a sought-after guest lecturer at esteemed institutions like the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she shares her knowledge and insights with the next generation of healthcare professionals.

A proud graduate of Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Bell completed her internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, culminating in 2009. Her dedication to excellence is reflected in her board certifications in internal medicine and infectious disease from the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Bell’s commitment to professional development is evident through her active membership in esteemed organizations such as the American Osteopathic Association, the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the American College of Physicians, among others.
