Can a chiropractor help me get relief from muscle pain?
YES! Chiropractic care can help with muscle pain. Many times, muscles will tighten up and become painful because the joints and bones they are connected to are not moving the way they are supposed to. Without this movement, they tighten up and can lead to the pain you are experiencing. Dr. Rob READ MORE
Stinging pain inside the neck
That sounds like you have a nerve that is being pinched or worse, a disc that is bulging leading to the stinging pain you are experiencing. Both are things that a chiropractor is able to help relieve the pain with muscle therapy and light adjustments. When you first meet with the practitioner, make sure they perform a full examination with X-rays to be sure that there isn't any disc or bone damage. Before you are able to get there, doing light stretching and icing are the best things you can do at home. Know that we, HealthSource of Marshall, see this on a regular basis and are excellent at letting you know if we can resolve your problem, or if a different type of treatment is needed. I have a dull pain in my lower back. How can I treat it?

I have pain in my back everytime I put on weight. Why does this happen?
When you put on weight that isn't proper for your frame it adds physical stress to the joints and discs in your spine. Your spine is meant to evenly spread the weight out so that it can work like a spring. When that weight isn't evenly distributed, it leads to damage and then pain. When that pressure builds up on your discs they spread out to irritate your nerves, which leads to low back pain. Think of the discs like balloons, when you squish a balloon the air relocates and that is what is happening to your discs in your back. How is back soreness treated?
Back soreness can come from a number of things. It could be joint, disc, nerve compression, muscle and/or ligament damage or bone problems. That is always the purpose of an examination to further determine that. Based on what you are describing it sounds like a lack of core balance and tight hip flexors which stretch out when you are laying on a harder support like the ground. We focus on fixing that by stretching, then strengthening and stabilizing the surrounding tissues of the lumbar joints after an adjustment. Check out our facebook page for tips and tricks you can do with stretching and to set up an appointment call 507-337-2423 as the purpose of that first visit is to make sure we can help!
