Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Jennifer Laura Miano, who serves the population of Florida. Dr. Milano has graduated with her Medical Degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2005, giving her over a decade of experience in her field. After obtaining her medical degree she completed her Anesthesiology Residency with the Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Milano is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Milano currently practices as an Anesthesiologist with Northwest Medical Center and the Jackson Health System, and holds a license to practice in the state of Florida. Anesthesiology is the practice of medicine dedicated to pain relief and total care of the surgical patient before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine and pain medicine. A anesthesiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats all different types of pain. Pain is a wide spectrum of disorders including acute pain, chronic pain and cancer pain and sometimes a combination of these. Pain can also arise for many different reasons such as surgery, injury, nerve damage, and metabolic problems such as diabetes. Occasionally, it can even be the problem all by itself, without any obvious cause.
