Dr. Greifenkamp is a board certified interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist. He practices at Longview Cardiac and Vascular Consultants in Texas, where he provides expert cardiovascular care to his patients.

Trained in peripheral intervention, Dr. Greifenkamp is the only local physician trained in carotid stenting. He plays a pivotal role as the Director of the Carotid Stent Program and serves as the Medical Director of the Vein Center at Longview Regional Medical Center, where he utilizes the latest venous ablation techniques.

His specialized procedures encompass a wide range of cardiac interventions, including addressing critical limb ischemia in peripheral arteries, managing chronic total occlusions of peripheral arteries, performing carotid stenting, offering non-surgical treatment for varicose veins and spider veins, as well as conducting cardiac catheterization and complex coronary interventions.

A true Texan, Dr. Greifenkamp was born in Galveston and raised in Longview. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with honors, cum laude, from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. His medical journey continued with a Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at the same institution, where he also served as chief resident and assistant professor. 

Subsequently, Dr. Greifenkamp pursued a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the prestigious Methodist DeBakey Heart Institute.

With impressive credentials, Dr. Greifenkamp is board certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Advancing cardiovascular care and his commitment to staying at the forefront of the field, Dr. Greifenkamp is honored as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI). Additionally, he is licensed in nuclear medicine and echocardiography.

Interventional cardiology is the subspecialty of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of heart diseases. The field includes the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease, and acquired structural heart disease.
