Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Sourabh Mukherjee, who serves patients in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

A board-certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Mukherjee is in practice at Hattiesburg Clinic Vascular Specialists. In his practice, he treats and manages conditions affecting all blood vessels, except for the heart. He uses a combination of medicine, minimally invasive outpatient procedures and open surgery, depending on the patient’s needs.

“My goal is keeping my patients active and able to enjoy life while decreasing morbidity from stroke, limb loss and other related conditions” expressed the doctor.

Hattiesburg Clinic Vascular Specialists are Hattiesburg’s only fellowship-trained vascular and endovascular surgeons. The services they offer provide treatment for two types of venous diseases, spider veins and varicose veins.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Mukherjee received his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency in general surgery and fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in vascular surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Holding membership status, Dr. Mukherjee is an active member of the American Medical Association and the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is also certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
