How long does it take for gums to heal after extractions for dentures?
Usually, it would be a minimum of two weeks of healing before your dentist can start the process of making the denture. The first step is Impressions. The more healed the soft tissue is, the more accurate that the impressions will be and therefore the better the denture will fit. So, something like 4-6 weeks before impressions is more ideal after extractions. You can have a temporary denture made for immediate placement on the day of extractions. But this denture will probably have to be replaced later with a denture fabricated once the ridge/soft tissues have healed. READ MORE
