Dr. Traugott is a specialist in neurology and the management of multiple sclerosis. She has been practicing at the Comprehensive Multiple Sclerosis Care Center at White Plains Hospital Medical & Wellness in Armonk, New York since 2004.

Among her institutional affiliations, Dr. Traugott  was  a Professor of Pathology (Neuropathology) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, an Associate Professor of Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at New York Medical College, and is currently a Professor of Neurology at  New York Medical College, and an attending physician at White Plains Hospital.

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Traugott received her medical degree with highest honors at  the Medical University of Vienna in Austria. She then went on to complete her residency in Neurology and Psychiatry at The University Hospital in Vienna, /Austria. 

Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Traugott conducted research on the immunology and immunopathology of MS and related diseases at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in The Bronx, New York City, New York.

For her groundbreaking MS research providing the first detailed description of the composition of inflammatory cells in active MS lesions, Dr. Traugott was awarded Fellow Status by the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN). This helped classify MS as an autoimmune disease and has led the way to the introduction of disease modifying agents for this disease.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
