Dr. Kok has been a practicing cardiologist for nearly 30 years. He graduated from the NUI University College Galway in 1992. He completed his residency at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.
He joined Southern California Heart Center in 2001. At Garfield Medical Center, he was Chief of Cardiology in 2006, Vice Chief of Medicine in 2008, and Chief of Medicine in 2015.
He is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in invasive and interventional cardiology, performing diagnostic cardiac catheterization, coronary angioplasty, coronary artery stenting, orbital/rotational atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and implantation of permanent pacemakers.
In addition, he specializes in non-invasive cardiology that includes trans-thoracic echocardiogram, trans-esophegeal echocardiogram, exercise stress echocardiogram, dobutamine echocardiogram, and peripheral non-invasive studies.
Dr. Kok is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Heart Association.
He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia.
