Working at AdventHealth Medical Group OB/GYN at Orlando, her areas of special interest include minimally invasive gynecology, pelvic reconstruction, adolescent and pediatric gynecology, and international medicine.
The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her Medical Degree from University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 1999. She then served her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Owens completed a fellowship in gynecologic endoscopy and pelvic reconstructive surgery at the Florida Hospital Celebration Health.
An expert in her field, she is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
In affiliation with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Owens is an active member of the Florida Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, the National Medical Association, the Southern Medical Association, the American College of Health Executives, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
Attributing her success to persistence, compassion, empathy and a strong support system, Dr. Owens’ prior experience has included work for Ethicon Endo Surgery in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a Master Consultant from 2004 to 2009; a consultant and faculty member for Hancock Medical Solutions in Miami; a clinical adjunct professor for Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers; and a staff physician with Borinquen Medical Centers of Miami-Dade, and at Cleveland Clinic Florida Naples (now Physicians Regional Medical Center – Medical Surgical Specialists).
