His main objective is to help his patients preserve their teeth for a lifetime by offering quality dental services (cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, full and partial dentures, teeth whitening, preventative care, and more) in a relaxed atmosphere.
Dr. Kurlan is the owner of Dental Associates of Livingston, located in Livingston, New Jersey. The practice remains dedicated to providing the highest level of dental medicine along with friendly, compassionate service. Its goal is for patients to leave the office with a memorable and enjoyable dental experience.
Dr. Kurlan is affiliated with several medical centers and hospitals in the New Jersey area, including Hackensack University Medical Center and Mountainside Hospital.
Dr. Kurlan received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduation, he enlisted for a two year tour of duty in the United States Air Force. There, he obtained the ranking of captain and was stationed in Northern Michigan for two years near the city of Sault Saint Marie as a dental officer. After his two year tour with the Air Force, Dr. Kurlan returned to his home state of New Jersey.
Dr. Kurlan is a 38 year member of the American Dental Association (ADA). He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the Newark Dental club, the Essex County Dental Society, and the Bear Brook Study Club.
Dr. Kurlan is a delegate of the New Jersey Dental Association. Founded in 1870, the New Jersey Dental Association is one of New Jersey’s oldest professional associations. Its mission is to serve and support its members and to foster the advancement of quality, ethical oral healthcare for the public.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. As a dentist. Dr. Kurlan diagnoses, treats, and manages overall oral health care needs, including preventive education. He received the award for America’s Top General Dentist in 2007 for his outstanding clinical expertise.
Dr. Kurlan and his wife, Helene, have three daughters: Michelle, Lori and Melissa. In his spare time, Dr. Kurlan loves traveling and enjoys his extensive Ancient Coin collection.
