He studied at Clark University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors in Mathematics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Subsequently, he obtained his Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, after which he completed his internship and residency at Duke University, where he served as assistant chief resident.
Further honing his skills in treating heart rhythm disorders, Dr. Poku completed his fellowships in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiology at the prestigious Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received numerous accolades including Cardiology Fellows Excellence Abstract Award and Ruth L. Kirschstein NIH Research Training Grant.

His passion for cardiac electrophysiology led him to join Georgia Arrhythmia Consultants and Research Initiative in 2006.
