Growing up in India, Dr. Gohel graduated with his medical degree from Medical College Baroda in 2003. He came to the United States in 2007, after which he completed his residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York. From 2009 until 2013, he performed his fellowship in geriatric medicine at George Washington University, and then an additional fellowship in nephrology at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania from 2013-2015.
Integrating clinical knowledge and skills, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, nephrology, and geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, Dr. Gohel’s main research interests are in glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease, kidney transplant, hypertension, and kidney stones. He is affiliated with University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center and Anne Arundel Medical Center. He also teaches medical students and resident doctors at AAMC.
