  • Dr. Brill - Mommy Makeover Procedure

The goal of a mommy makeover procedure is to restore the appearance of a woman's body after having children. Many women notice changes in their bodies post-pregnancy. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the breasts will enlarge, increasing as much as a full cup size or more. However, returning...

  • What is the treatment for a deviated septum?

If you are happy with the cosmetic appearance and it is only a breathing problem and is proven to be caused by the septum, this can be treated usually surgically after examination. If you think of the septum as the tentpole and is crocked causing breathing obstruction, correction can be done very effectively READ MORE

  • How long do you wear a compression garment after an arm lift?

I usually only have arm garments for around 2 weeks. This is far less that with other areas such as abdomen, hips, thighs or even back. i have added Bodytite which works well to tighten the elastin fibers and can reduce skin surface by 30% avoiding making and incisions leaving scars. It has very limited bruising and the skin continues to tighten up to six moths to a year and is a persistent result only reversed by aging. The early result is good in a few weeks but keeps getting better. You are young and have good elastin fibers. If you do need surgical skin reduction, I combine the Bodytite treatment as well. • Will a brow lift make my forehead smaller?

You can have a brow lift and make your forehead smaller. It involves first shaping and positioning your brows which is cosmetically pleasing. A nice feminine arch needs to be planned and not too far above the orbital bone. What is mostly done is a brow not too high but with a feminine curve. Strong impressive women don't want high arched brows and not hollowed out orbital sulcus. If you have a high forehead, this can be corrected by lowering your hairline to artistically give you proper facial proportion (originally outline by DeVinci). Forehead lines can be also treated but at your age, it may not be an issue, An uneven but artistically made resection of skin can be made lowering your hairline for facial proportion. It is along the hair roots so that hair hides any scar and even grows through the scar making this imperceptible. Shaping, lifting to proper location and modifying the forehead can be done with no noticeable scar. READ MORE

  • Can you have empty nose syndrome after nose surgery?

Yes! If the normal nasal valve is disrupted or turbinates which are baffles in your nose causing turbulence of are flow and makes your nasal passages into pipes, that will occur. Turbulence is necessary as this facilitates moisturizing air inhaled so that it is completely saturated when it reaches the back of your throat. It also absorbs vapor as you exhale. READ MORE

  • Can dermal pigmentation be removed?

Yes. I use Icon and Picosure. This is a skin treatment which heals rapidly Picosure is also used to remove tattoos which illusrtates how effective it is but you only want matching skin color and this is great when properly utilized. I also use products devised by Dr. Obagi and he is the worlds expert. These are self administered. The new company is called ZO. It is only available be physicians as the ingredients are FDA controlled which means the product actually works. There are also peels such as a Blue Peel devised by Dr. Obagi which accelerates the results. Post pregnancy pigmentation can be treated very well and sun spots or brown spots many times can be a one stop shop treatment and heal with the spot turning darker and completely peeling off in two to four days with normal pigment color. • How long do hip fillers last?

It depends on how you are treated. If is your lateral hips fat grafting is commonly done. Reshaping adipose distribution is body contouring and I would only go to a plastic surgeon who has the artistry to give you the body shape you want. This is permanent except for normal aging. I have seen patients 20 years later and they still look great. Unfortunately, i have treated many "botched jobs". This is artistry and not all plastic surgeons have the same skills like artists. You want a Rembrandt not a Picasso. READ MORE

  • Which is better for your face Kybella or CoolSculpting?

It depends on what you look like and how much adipose tissue you have under your chin and possibly your neck. You are young and I assume you may have always had some extra adipose tissue under your chin in adolescence. I would prefer liposculpturing your chin and neck. there are no noticeable scars and it is permanent. I am totally responsible for your result. You have minimal bruising, performed possibly only under local anesthesia but most what with some sedation, and takes less than an hour. The result looks great the next day and improves a little more over a couple months. The problem with CoolScupting or Kybella is that the treatment is longer, over multiple treatments, takes months to see much of a result. Usually, these treatments are not performed by a plastic surgeon or even in a plastic surgery practice but by a nurse practitioner or a nurse. you may see a physician who is not a plastic surgeon, prescribes it for you as you said you wanted it, charges you much$ and may never see you again. he is not responsible for any result as the machine or Kybella did it, he did nothing himself. However, he will get your money. Go to a plastic surgeon who has years of experience and has the responsibility to give you the result that you want. Neck contouring is very common when performing a facelift with adipose tissue in the neck. This would be simple for a good plastic surgeon as you are young and want an exact shaping of an undesirable feature. This always gives the best result and is permanent. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to recover from ear reduction surgery?

If your ears stick out too far, this can be corrected with sedation under local anesthesia. Bruising for me lasts 4 or 5 days. There are no scars visible. The incision is made behind your ear just behind the curl (not in the back of your ear and is invisible). Reshaping by recreating the antehelical fold (the cartilage roll so your ears don't project too far is the procedure performed). Post operative treatment is usually simply a head band comfortably for maybe the first night for protection but nothing during the day. You will like the result the next day and bruises are gone in several days. READ MORE

  • Can you have permanent eye color change?

If it's the iris of the eye you are referring to, the answer is no. Contacts with color can be used. If it is the eyeliner tattoo you are referring to, yes. Sometimes the previous dye can be removed and we have that technology and can be followed with another color. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to recover from eyelid plastic surgery?

The post surgical swelling is gone in 3 to 5 days. Bruises usually changed from a ”black and blue” to a more yellow color change at the end if a week and can easily be covered with make up. There is specific make up for covering bruises without having to put thick make over the skin. I have had many patients simply wear sunglasses even before the selling subsides and return to a regular routine including grocery shopping. READ MORE

  • Can a plastic surgeon fix a facial scar?

This is considered constructive surgery as it is a deformity secondary to accident or illness. Three major factors involve scars, contour, color, and width. Contour indentation or protruding scars are the most noticeable, and second is the color. The width may not be very noticeable if the scar is flat with normal color. Contracture of scar can also give a facial deformity. There are tension lines in the skin and there are ways to revise the sacar by removal of the original scar and may change directions of some of the scar so that most of the scar is along the tension lines leaving very little scar and hopefully totally unnoticeable. The method may be Z- plasties, rotational flaps, transitional flaps or advancement flaps or just a simple revision using an traumatic method. An enlarged scar called a hypertrophic scar, or keloid scar can also be treated. READ MORE

  • What is the most common breast implant size?

It depends on your height and size as it will be different for a five-foot person to a five-foot 10-inch woman weighing 50 pounds more. The implant should fit your chest dimension and you should communicate and many times by photos as to exactly what you want to look like. The surgeon is working for you and you are his boss. You need to chose the size and contour as well as the overall size and then it is up to the plastic surgeon to have the knowledge and skill to know how to perform the surgery and place the correct size implant to achieve what you desire. However, overall most implants range 300 to 400cc size. There are different sizes and shapes of implants and and saline-filled or highly cohesive gels (gummy’s). Pay little attention to the size if the implant and all attention what you want to look like and leave the implant size to the surgeon. If you get exactly what you wanted then the implant size was right for you as well as the technique and skill of the surgeon. READ MORE

  • What are the side effects of Botox?

Side effects can be a headache if injected close to a cutaneous never but doesn't last long. If migrates blow brow there can be slight drooping of the upper eyelid. Usually, such a small amount migrated that it lasts only for several days. Some differences in symmetry can occur and many times corrected by additional botox where it was not as effective. The maximum effect of the botox is about four days but much is noticeable immediately after injection. The major complications such as wider effects causing paralysis is basically nonexistent if standard Botox its other major product is used and not mixed or concocted by the physician. Major problems as this were reported and Botox Cosmetic was very rapid in notifying the public that it was not their product and an overdose was given by improperly mixed. I have had great long term permanent results with several treatments over a year an a half at 3 to 4 months apart. This causes the muscles to be permanently longer and weaker as the repeated use for several treatments results is muscle wasting and atrophy. After that period patients come for maintenance if needed or not any longer. I was the first plastic surgeon in this area to us botox when it was first FDA approved for cosmetic use. At that time only plastic surgeons used it but now it is by almost any doctor nurse or nurse practitioner and unfortunately are not as knowledgeable about facial anatomy and I have seen many unhappy patients treated in different places. They now only trust me and will not go any place else. READ MORE

  • What are the side effects of Botox?

Side effects are very rare and, if any, they subside with no long-term consequences. There was a major completion of botox with paralysis that occurred when a doctor mixed his own with none-medical botox and with the wrong concentration by error and was to save money. Botox cosmetic rapidly responded that it was not their product injected. The physician lost his license to practice. I have had only an occasional headache occur when injected close to cutaneous nerves and is very rare an is very short term. Also. migration of a small amount of botox can migrate blow the brow resulting in a paradise or weakness if the upper eyelid and usually if it happens is on one side. This is very rare and lasts for usually only a few days. This is also very rare. READ MORE

  • How can I make my lips bigger with surgery?

The best method is with fat grafting as it results with a permanent result. There is some skill in getting a very good result. I have been in practice longer than anyone in private practice including University of Florida and. the Mayo Clinic. I unfortunately take care of many botched cases. If you are a artist and were to screech lips, there is specific continue features that are necessary to achieve the contour and shape that give a very attractive even if large. I have seen too much placed in wrong places such as lateral upper lip so that it looks like a sausage rather than a lip. The center needs to be much fuller with the mucosal show and not too much above the. There is a tapering if the protrusion and then the sides need to taper naturally resulting in an attractive lip. The same is necessary for the lower lip. Dr Sidney Coleman has been the greatest contributor an I use his technique which results in about 90 percent of graft survival making the results very predictable and allowing excellent artistry READ MORE

  • How long does eye lift surgery last?

It is permanent as skin is removed and sometimes some adipose tissue is removed. Minimal adipose tissue should be removed only to return you to how you looked 10 or more years ago. With aging, adipose tissue decreases so too much removal can be harmful making you look even older. Many times through the eyelid incision, I also raise the lateral brow slightly to make you look better. It also eliminates many lines in the lateral eyelid area. We also recommend skin care which us self use but with prescription strength compounds which result in permanent anti aging not available in retail stores. This results in permanent improvement. You may stop using and the result remains as apposed to retail who wants consistent purchase for profit and does not rejuvenate the skin. We work for permanent improvement except for normal aging from that permanently improved point READ MORE

  • How long is recovery from a face lift?

Your appearance will look much better one day later and many times with minimal swelling. This may increase the next day and rapidly subside. The bruising will subside in 5 to 7 days but may have a yellow discoloration that can be covered with make up. READ MORE

  • Can a nose job improve breathing?

Yes. Many operations improve appearance but also treats any breathing obstruction problems with a septoplasty and correction of enlarged turbonates if that is causing a breathing problem. Breathing problems can also be treated without the rhinoplasty and not changing the shape of the nose READ MORE

  • What will happen if you don't replace breast implants?

Plastic surgeons want you to have an improved appearance which is the original reason for your surgery. Removing your implants will give you a deformity out of the surgeons control. Therefore, when I remove implants, I encourage them to still retain a normal appearance by possibly a breast lift, fat grafting if needs more volume, or change to a different type and size and may change from under skin to under muscle. I specifically need to know why she wants them removed. Is it rupture, contract, or rare implant illness with older gel implants and not the gummy type, or textured implants with problems. I have removed implants on many patients who simply are too large at that time if their life and removal with a lift and even lipoplasty of lateral breast and arm pit are give a very satisfactory result. • How long do butt injections last?

Treating the buttocks usually involves increasing volume in the upper the central region giving a nice round appearance correcting a flat central appearance. Fat grafting can be performed in many patients. The cell mass is permanent. If one gains weight, this may also get larger. Make sure that whatever is done will achieve the result in improving your shape and contour which you desire. I have combined adipose tissue reduction in the lower, lateral, and above the buttocks as well as adding volume to the upper and central buttocks to give the result requested by the patient. This is a permanent change a will change over time with normal aging. READ MORE
