Get to know Neurologist Dr. Monica Simionescu, who serves patients in Janesville, Wisconsin.

A prominent neurologist, Dr. Simionescu can be found on staff at SSM Health Dean Medical Group – SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Janesville.

Licensed to practice medicine in Wisconsin and Illinois, she is affiliated with Northwest Community Hospital, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison, Edgerton Hospital, and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

In Romania, Dr. Simionescu graduated with her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1992. She then went on to perform her internship at Roger Williams Medical Center in 2003, her residency in neurology at Loyola University Medical Center in 2006, and her fellowship in vascular neurology at Loyola University Medical Center in 2007.

The doctor is board-certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Simionescu is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the National Headache Foundation.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
