In Romania, Dr. Simionescu graduated with her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1992. The doctor is board-certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Simionescu is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the National Headache Foundation.
