Get to know Vein Specialist Dr. Dmitry D. Gorelik, who serves patients in New York & New Jersey.
A nationally respected and trained doctor, Dr. Gorelik opened his own practice – Vein Treatment Doctors – to better serve his patients. He has an office in New York City and three locations in northern New Jersey, all of which are equipped with the latest tools and a compassionate staff.
A licensed vein specialist with more than 10 years of success, Dr. Gorelik eliminates pain from problem veins and provides clearer skin in the most relaxing environment. He listens patiently to patients’ complaints to get a full understanding of their issues, relies on up-to-the-minute diagnostic tools and a knowledgeable evaluation process to reach a correct diagnosis as part of the complete vein consultation, and chooses the least invasive vein treatments first. He also treats underlying medical issues while working to deliver clear skin, free of visible veins, offers a wide range of treatment options to suit the vein condition, as well as treats common varicose veins and more complex vein problems, like venous insufficiency.
Utilizing his clinical skills, he is experienced in endovenous laser ablation, laser therapy for spider veins, endovenous radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy for varicose veins, sclerotherapy for spider veins, venous stasis ulcer treatment, and even ambulatory phlebotomy, when necessary.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Gorelik completed his Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut in 1997. He then went on to attend Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine, graduating with his medical degree in 2001.
His post-graduate training began with his internship at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn in 2002. He followed that with his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 2004. He then did postdoctoral research at Stanford University, and finished his training with a three-year fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the State University of New York in Buffalo in 2009.
Having completed special training, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also board-certified in nuclear cardiology through the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, putting him in demand at hospitals and clinics throughout the area.
Throughout his professional experience, Dr. Gorelik served as a clinical cardiologist at Long Island Bariatric Group (2018), Riverside Medical Group/Mount Sinai (2010-2011), Platte Valley Medical Center (2011 – 2013), Empire Medical Associates (2015 – 2015), and Sovereign Medical (2017 – 2018). He even spent time as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City from 2013 until 2014.
This experience prepared him for his successful career as a vein specialist. Treating everything from cosmetic spider veins to serious venous insufficiency, he now possesses the knowledge, training and skills to accurately gauge conditions and recommend the most appropriate treatments.
Vein specialists are physicians who are trained to treat conditions affecting the veins, including varicose veins and spider veins. These doctors know how to recognize the signs of vein disease, diagnose patients accurately, and recommend the best course of treatment.
Among Dr. Gorelik’s various awards and honors include: 2006 Instructor, Basic Sciences in Cardiovascular Physiology; 2005 Best Teacher Award by medical residents at Sutter Santa Rosa, California; 2005 Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Stanford University, Palo Alto, California; and 2000 President, Hillel, Wesleyan University.
On a more personal note, he speaks four languages: English, Hebrew, Spanish, and Russian.
