Dr. Song’s commitment to neonatal health is reflected in his dual role as the Associate Medical Director at Jacobs Medical Center at UC San Diego Health. His affiliations with Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, and Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs Hospital further underscore his dedication to providing top-tier medical care.

An accomplished educator, Dr. Song serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he is shaping the next generation of pediatricians through his role as Associate Program Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Program. His education leadership ensures that the highest standards of care are upheld in the training of future specialists.

Scholastically, Dr. Song earned his Medical Degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2007. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital from 2007 to 2010, followed by a fellowship in neonatology at UC San Diego Health, which he completed in 2013. His rigorous training and board certifications in both pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine affirm his expertise in the field.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Song remains at the forefront of neonatal medicine, continually seeking innovative approaches to improve outcomes for premature and critically ill infants. His fluency in both English and Korean allows him to connect with a diverse patient population, fostering trust and comfort among families navigating challenging medical journeys.
