Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Ebony R. Rucker, who serves patients in El Paso, Texas.

Assessing patients who seek immediate medical attention at any time of day or night, Dr. Rucker is a well-versed emergency physician. She provides her expertise to the El Paso area with affiliations with Foundation Surgical Hospital of El Paso, University Medical Center of El Paso – East Emergency Department, El Paso Specialty Hospital, and Legent Hospital of El Paso.

Having practiced in her field for over ten years, she holds medical licenses in Texas, Ohio, and Georgia. She practices a range of medical specialties so that she can reach as many people as she can.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine. She then continued her studies with residencies in emergency medicine at both Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Emory University.

A member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Dr. Rucker is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional standing, and examination standards.

Emergency medicine, also known as trauma and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of life threatening medical conditions or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. They are trained to care for a wide range of problems that require emergent medical help. These problems are often serious and may be life-threatening.

On a more personal note, Dr. Rucker attributes her success to her hard work and collaboration with other colleagues. She has been on multiple mission trips with Wayne State University, including visiting Haiti and Ecuador.

Outside of practicing medicine, she enjoys traveling, going on mission trips, and listening to music. Her favorite professional publications are Annals of Emergency Medicine and the  Journal of the American Medical Association.
