Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Ronda J. Garcia, who serves patients in Florida.

A trusted anesthesiologist with a background in neonatal critical care, Dr. Garcia is the Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at North Florida Anesthesia Consultants in Jacksonville, Florida.

North Florida Anesthesia Consultants (NFAC) was founded in 1990 in Jacksonville, Florida, with the mission of building a cohesive, high-quality anesthesia group to serve St. Vincent’s Healthcare. They provide anesthesia for a wide range of cases, including complex cardiac cases, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and OB/GYN.

Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Garcia earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Louisville. She then went on to complete her residency in anesthesiology at the same educational venue.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. Anesthesiologists have a vast amount of responsibilities that include vigilant monitoring of the patient’s vital signs during surgery, managing acute pain, maintaining safety, and most importantly, acting as the patient’s advocate in the operating room.

On a more personal note, Dr. Garcia is a mother of five young children.
