Throughout her academic career, her journey in psychiatry began with her doctoral studies at Khyber Medical College, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors in mental health care. Following her academic achievements, she completed a comprehensive internship at Frankford Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of medical practice.

Her dedication to psychiatry led her to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she completed her residency, honing her skills and expertise in the field. Dr. Kanji’s commitment to advancing her knowledge and providing specialized care is evident in her pursuit of two fellowships. The first, in forensic psychiatry, equipped her with a unique understanding of the intersection between mental health and legal systems. The second fellowship, in child and adolescent psychiatry, further expanded her capabilities to address the diverse needs of her patients.

In 1995, she took a significant step by establishing her private practice, reflecting her commitment to creating a warm and supportive environment for her patients. Over the years, she has been a dedicated full-time practitioner, providing comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals across the lifespan.
