Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1975, Dr. Humphreys went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his internship at the University of California – Los Angeles Hospital in 1981, followed by his surgical residency at Stanford University Hospital in 1984.
From 1984 until 1986, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then headed a private practice – Shannon Clinic – in San Angelo, Texas from 1986 until 2002, and an additional private practice – NEA Clinic – in Jonesboro, Arkansas from 2002 until 2005.
Credentialed by the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, Dr. Humphreys is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.
