Get to know Otolaryngologist Dr. Brian F. Humphreys, who serves patients in Lufkin, Texas.

Dr. Humphreys is a skilled otolaryngologist specializing in hearing health, including hearing tests, hearing loss treatment, and hearing aids. Since 2005, he has been seeing patients at his private practice in Lufkin, Texas.

When health problems start affecting well-being, it is Dr. Humphreys’ life’s commitment to provide the best care. He is specifically trained in the care of all medical conditions concerning the ears, nose, and throat for children and adults. He also concentrates his treatment on inhalant allergies affecting the sinuses, and he individualizes treatment based on each person’s needs.

Dedicated to working with each individual patient in restoring their health and well-being, Dr. Humphreys has more than 25 years of experience in providing cosmetic, functional, and reconstructive surgical treatment of the face and neck.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (FAAO-HNS), he adheres to the elevated standards of professional performance. 

Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Pan American Allergy Society, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Foundation.

Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1975, Dr. Humphreys went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1979. He completed his internship at the University of California – Los Angeles Hospital in 1981, followed by his surgical residency at Stanford University Hospital in 1984. 

From 1984 until 1986, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then headed a private practice – Shannon Clinic – in San Angelo, Texas from 1986 until 2002, and an additional private practice – NEA Clinic – in Jonesboro, Arkansas from 2002 until 2005. 

Credentialed by the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, Dr. Humphreys is board-certified in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification.

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss to cancer. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas and California, Dr. Humphreys has been the recipient of several awards and honors throughout his extensive career, including: Who’s Who of North American Physicians, AMA Physician Recognition Award (1993-2016), United Way – Outstanding Service in the Physician’s Division, Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015), Patients’ Choice Award (2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).
