A triple board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Schreiber provides state-of-the-art diagnostic, preventive, and intervention treatment of cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, and carotid artery disease. He is the Founder of Schreiber Cardiology, PC in Warren, Michigan.

His particular clinical and research interests include percutaneous valve repair, high risk coronary intervention, and carotid stenting with numerous peer-review publications in these areas. He has functioned as Chief or Vice-Chief of Cardiology variously at all three major interventional programs in the Detroit metropolitan area and has trained many of the practicing interventional cardiologists in the area.

Having performed over 20,000 coronary interventions in his lifetime, Dr. Schreiber is one of the first physicians in the United States to offer a minimally invasive treatment option for the prevention of stroke in patients who have carotid artery disease.

In his local area, he holds medical privileges at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital – Warren, Ascension St. John Hospital, Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, McLaren Oakland, and Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in 1978. He then went on to perform his internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Schreiber attained board certification in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Actively involved in ongoing research in carotid artery stenting, Dr. Schreiber has been the principal or co-principal investigator on numerous cardiovascular research studies and has written dozens of book chapters, articles and abstracts on interventional cardiology. He has already made two presentations to the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, as well as has authored a peer-reviewed article for the medical journal, Biochemical Pharmacology.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Fluent in English, Romanian, and Spanish, Dr. Schreiber was named a “Top Doc” in Hour Magazine’s 2007 and 2008 annual survey, and is the only Michigander in the Top 1% of Interventional Cardiologists.
