Pulmonologists are experts in the diagnosis and management of disorders of the respiratory system, including the lungs, upper airways, thoracic cavity, and chest wall. As a pulmonologist, Dr. Dolojan has a broad knowledge base of structural, inflammatory, infectious, and neoplastic disorders of the lung parenchyma, pleura and airways, pulmonary vascular disease and its effect on the cardiovascular system, and detection and prevention of occupational and environmental causes of lung disease. He is frequently called upon to help diagnose unknown disorders and assist in managing difficult, unusual, or complicated diseases of the respiratory system including asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), emphysema, lung cancer, interstitial and occupational lung diseases, complex lung and pleural infections including tuberculosis and COVID-19, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, as well as sleep-disordered breathing (such as sleep apnea).
Dr. Dolojan also specializes in the management of critically ill patients. As a critical care physician ("intensivist"), Dr. Dolojan is an expert in treating physiologic responses as a result of sepsis, infections, acute inflammation, and organ dysfunction. He is also trained to know how such diseases interact with other chronic medical conditions that a patient may have and has a broad knowledge base and full understanding of the physiology of the critically ill patient, as well as the technological procedures and devices used in intensive care settings. Dr. Dolojan is frequently called upon to manage critically ill patients in the intensive care unit ("ICU") who will typically require multiple levels of life support.
