Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Rhonda Whittie-Bradford, who serves patients in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Whittie-Bradford is a hospitalist at Valley View Hospital based in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Valley View Hospital was built in 1955 with funds raised by the residents of Glenwood Springs and the surrounding communities. Federal funds dedicated to building rural hospitals matched the funds raised. Since that time, Valley View commitment to the health of the community has been a cornerstone of the organization. What was once a 22,000 square foot, single story hospital with 35-beds is now a thriving regional medical center with a 21-acre medical campus with 78 beds, including an additional 400,000 square feet of advanced hospital and medical offices.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Dr. Whittie-Bradford went on to perform her residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

With over three decades of experience, she is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Licensed to practice medicine in Colorado and Virginia, Dr. Whittie-Bradford is affiliated with Aspen Valley Hospital, Culpeper Medical Center, and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists.
