What causes tingling in your neck?
What causes tingling is nerves that are not functioning normally. All nerves originate in the spinal column. The upper portion of the spinal column is enclosed by the cervical(neck) spine. The bones(vertebrae)in the cervical spine are connected to nerves that travel throughout both sides of the neck from the base of the skull to the top of the back(thoracic0 spine. The recommendation to determine the problem would be to obtain X-rays of the cervical spine. Next have the x-rays reviewed by a physician. My area of training and experience is as a chiropractor. So I would review the X-rays with a chiropractic physician. The usual problem is that the vertebrae are not in a normal position in relation to the other vertebrae in the spine. This abnormal position could result in pressing on nerves that are in the cervical spine. This could be the reason for the pain. Then the chiropractor would adjust or re-position the vertebrae to a normal position and the pain should be eliminated soon afterward. Ice therapy would be also recommended to relax the inflamed musculature that surrounds the vertebrae so that healing of the area would occur. READ MORE
