Get to know Physiatrist & Pain Management Specialist Dr. Bharat C. Patel, who serves patients in Florida.

In practice for over three decades, Dr. Patel is a highly experienced physiatrist and pain management specialist. He works at Deuk Spine Institute with offices in Melbourne and Titusville, Florida.

As a pain management and physical medicine professional, Dr. Patel performs a wide range of tests to determine the cause of spinal pain, such as discography tests. Once the cause of pain is determined and pain management procedures are deemed appropriate, he provides injections to block the transmission of pain signals and a variety of other therapies to help reduce or eliminate pain. He is an expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnosis and injections, performs both non-interventional and interventional spine pain management therapies, as well as treats arthritis of the spine and facet joint pain with injections for pain.

In his professional experience, he is the Founder of Regenerative and Aesthetic Institute that focuses on platelet- rich plasma and stem cell-based therapies. He has performed over 30,000 procedures under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance and consistently receives superior patient satisfaction survey ratings.

A 1994 graduate of Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College in India, Dr. Patel relocated to the United States to further his training. Once there, he performed an internship in the Department of Surgery at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, New York, a residency at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, and a fellowship in interventional pain management in Clearwater, Florida. 

The doctor’s credentials include board certifications in sports medicine, physiatry, pain medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and interventional pain management. Fewer than one in 10,000 physicians nationwide are quintuple board-certified (the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Board of Pain Medicine, and the American Academy of Pain Management).

In 2014, Dr. Patel was chosen by the Chairman and CEO of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians to serve as an examiner for the national American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians examinations. He scored the highest of all physicians in the country when he completed the examination.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, he is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the International Spine Intervention Society, the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, the Florida Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, the Brevard Indo-American Medical and Dental Association, the Brevard County Medical Association (serving as Secretary of the Board of Governors), and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Patel serves as an Assistant Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Central Florida’s College of Medicine.
