Dr. Efebera is a highly trained hematologist-oncologist who specializes in B-cell lymphoid malignancies, including multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, Waldenstrom’s disease, and stem cell and bone marrow transplant. She is an international leader focusing her clinical and research expertise in blood and marrow transplantation, multiple myeloma, and plasma cell dyscrasia.
In association with OhioHealth Physician Group Medical Oncology and Hematology (Columbus Bing Cancer Center Ste 2E), she is the Director of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy for OhioHealth. She is also active at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Back in 1998, Dr. Efebera graduated with her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Clinic in 2001, her fellowship in hematology/oncology at Boston Medical Center in 2005, and her fellowship in bone marrow transplant at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2009.
Subsequent to her education, she attained board certification in medical oncology and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Efebera is an active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
