As a highly-trained neonatologist, Dr. Boyar specializes in neonatal-perinatal medicine, pediatrics, and wound care. She is the Interim Medical Director of the Neonatal-Perinatal Unit & the Director of Neonatal Skin and Wound Services at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

Opened in 1983, Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital and North Shore-LIJ Children’s Hospital, is a pediatric acute care children’s teaching hospital located in New Hyde Park, New York. The 202-bed hospital is dedicated to providing the very best care to meet the special needs of children, from premature babies to adolescents.

Collaborating with Northwell Health, Dr. Boyar is affiliated with Huntington Hospital, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, and South Shore University Hospital.

Alongside her clinical role, she serves as an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Graduating with her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in 2002, Dr. Boyar went on to perform her residency in pediatrics at North Shore University Hospital in 2005. This was followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in 2008.

Dedicated to excellence, the doctor is board-certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP exists to promote excellence in medical care for children and adolescents. Certification represents dedication by pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, and pediatric trainees to the highest level of professionalism in patient care.

Holding a standard of excellence in multidisciplinary wound certification, Dr. Boyar is board-certified through the American Board of Wound Management.
