A triple board certified hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Tang offers customized, patient-centered care in an ever-changing oncology environment and has the expertise required to treat various types of cancers and blood disorders. 

Being a part of the Los Angeles Cancer Network, his expertise is readily accessible to patients at multiple healthcare facilities, including Pasadena Cotton Medical Center and Montebello Beverly Medical Center. He can also be found on staff at Huntington Hospital, USC Arcadia Hospital, and Southern California Hospital in Culver City.

A Cum Laude graduate of UCLA, Dr. Tang earned his Undergraduate Degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific.

Furthering his training, he performed his internship in osteopathic categorical internal medicine at Valley Hospital Medical Center, his residency in internal medicine at LAC-USC Medical Center, and his fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. 

Passionate about his profession, Dr. Tang is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of cancer, malignant blood diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and blood disorders such as iron-deficiency anemia, clotting abnormalities, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, and a rare hematologic related syndromes, and diseases.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Tang has made significant contributions to the field of oncology. He has authored case reports on myeloid leukemia and metastatic colorectal cancer, in addition to producing abstracts featured in prestigious publications such as the Annals of Oncology, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the Journal of Investigative Medicine. He has also shared his insights on cancer prevention and treatment topics through appearances on major news outlets, including ABC World News Tonight, Good Day LA on FOX11, NBC, and CBS.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Dr. Tang has received numerous awards, underscoring his dedication and excellence. Among his notable accolades are the President’s and Professional Achievement Awards at Western University, the Summer Research Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and Departmental Honors in MCDB at UCLA.
