Get to know Family Physician Dr. Robert E. Hanson, who serves patients in Naples, Florida.

Dr. Hanson has practiced as a board-certified family physician in Naples, Florida since 1992. He is affiliated with NCH Concierge Medicine, which was created to offer patients a higher level of personalized primary care within the NCH Healthcare System. In this way, patients can have peace of mind knowing that they are receiving comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical care which is tailored to their individual needs.

Known for his kind and compassionate manner, Dr. Hanson understands the importance of spending time with his patients to best determine their unique health care needs and direct appropriate care. He was a founding member of Anchor Health Centers in 1997 and served as Group President during its acquisition by the NCH Healthcare system in 2010.

Throughout his educational background, he received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1989. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in family practice at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1992. He served as chief resident during his final year of residency. 

Proceeding his training, the doctor became board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties. 

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person whom a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. 

On the subject of his personal life, Dr. Hanson grew up in St. Petersburg, the son of a primary care physician. He has 4 wonderful children. When he is not tending to his patients, he enjoys traveling, fishing, playing golf, doing fitness, and riding his bike.
