Back in 1987, Dr. Pegoraro graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the National University of Córdoba in Argentina. He then relocated to the United States where he performed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1995 and 1998, respectively. 

Having been in practice for over three decades, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Pegoraro is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the International Society of Nephrology.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Pegoraro is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2014), On-Time Doctor Award (2014), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014).
