In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations, including the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American Stroke Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the Westchester County Medical Society, the Society of Practitioners - Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the Age Management Medicine Group.
Active on the panel for the Age Management Medicine Group, Dr. Shapiro serves his local, regional, and national community as an Emergency Responder. He has completed extensive training through the New York State Division of Fire Prevention and Control and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Center for Domestic Preparedness in many programs including Weapons of Mass Destruction and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings at the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center.
Furthermore, he is on the Board of Directors for Orion Children International, a not-for-profit organization established to empower orphaned and vulnerable children through early intervention.
