Jeffrey R. Jaglowski, MD, MBA, MSc is a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in disorders of the shoulder, knee, and hip, and treats most other orthopedic related injuries and conditions. He chairs the Jaglowski Orthopedic Institute at Orthopedic Specialists of Texas (OST) in Houston, Texas. He has a focus on rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and employs specialized arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to maintain joint function and promote active lifestyles. He currently serves as a team physician and consultant for the United States Olympic Ski and Snowboard teams.
Dr. Jaglowski received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sports Medicine at Mercyhurst University in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania. Clinical experience with collegiate athletics led him to certifications as an Athletic Trainer and a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He then pursued graduate studies at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he received his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Anatomy. There he served as a joint instructor of several medical school courses and performed basic science and clinical cancer research for which he received numerous grants and authored several publications. He then completed his medical degree (MD) at Penn State where he continued to foster interests in Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He was elected a junior member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society (AOA) and graduated with honors.
Dr. Jaglowski completed Orthopedic Surgery Residency Training at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program in Boston, Massachusetts and served as chief resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He received training from distinguished surgeons at Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and the Children's Hospital of Boston. During his time in Boston, he worked with several professional sports teams and was able to care for and treat several victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
He then completed an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado where he received subspecialty training in shoulder, knee, and hip surgical techniques. During his time in Vail, he traveled with the United States Ski Team and worked with numerous professional athletes. He also completed and published research involving the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Dr Jaglowski also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the world - renowned New York University Stern School of Business. He has specializations in Finance, Financial Instruments and Markets, and Business and Brand Strategy. He is a registered member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and holds financial advisory certifications through the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA). He lectures on financial health and wellness and performs financial consulting.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys golfing, skiing, live music, traveling, and spending time with his wife Heather and their two children, Jackson and Hadley. Dr. Jaglowski is accepting new patients and accepts most insurance plans. He performs his surgeries at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake and Mainland and the Bay Area Surgicare Center on the HCA Clear Lake campus.
