Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Jakeen W. Johnson, who serves patients in Kingwood, Texas.

A caring and compassionate pediatrician, Dr. Johnson joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Kingwood, Texas in July of 2005. Her areas of clinical interest include childhood obesity, nutrition, asthma, and allergies.

“​I believe health education is an essential aspect of providing great healthcare and that working together with parents as a team can help grow a healthy child” expressed the doctor. 

A 2002 graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Dr. Johnson went on to perform her internship and residency in pediatrics with Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals.

Following her training, she attained board certification in pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Practicing medicine in Texas, Dr. Johnson is affiliated with Texas Children’s Hospital, and The Woman’s Hospital of Texas.

Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Houston Medical Association Forum, and the National Medical Association.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Besides spending time with her husband and children , Dr. Johnson enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and volunteering.​​
