Get to know Family Physician Dr. Katie Burden-Greer, who serves patients in rural Oklahoma.

A committed Family Physician, Dr. Burden-Greer is the Chief of Inpatient Medicine at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma.

Back in 2007, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from East Central University. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Dr. Burden-Greer has maintained a wide scope of practice within Family Medicine working in emergency departments, inpatient acute care and critical care settings, as well as outpatient clinics providing excellent medical care to adults and children. 

Maintaining membership status, Dr. Burden-Greer is an active member of the Association of American Indian Physicians, the American Association for Physician Leaders, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and Physicians for Patient Protection.

Family Medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a Family Physician or family doctor. A Family Physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with complex treatment needs to a specialist or appropriate facility.
