Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Deirdre Rhoad, who serves patients in Austin, Texas.
A meticulous plastic surgeon, Dr. Rhoad is the Owner & Operator of Rhoad to Beauty, a full-service plastic surgery and medical spa facility in Austin, Texas. She opened the practice in 1993 alongside one of Austin’s highly respected plastic surgeons, Dr. Frank Morris, whose belief in her skills gave her a great introduction to the medical community and patients.
In the early part of her practice, Dr. Rhoad treated facial lacerations, fractures, severe hand and wrist lacerations, and finger amputations with replantation at all Austin-area hospitals, in addition to her cosmetic procedures.
For the past ten years, she has specialized entirely on cosmetic plastic surgery. She now performs all aspects of cosmetic plastic surgery of the face and body, including eye lifts, face lifts, neck lifts, facial and body liposuction, tummy tucks, armlifts, breast surgeries (breast lifts, breast reductions, breast symmetry surgery, and breast augmentation with implants), and fat grafting. She also offers many less invasive methods to rejuvenate the face.
Unlike the impersonal experiences that often frustrate patients at some larger facilities, services at Rhoad to Beauty are characterized by attentiveness and care for the individual.
An Air Force “angel”, Dr. Rhoad lived as far north as Newfoundland where she was born on a military base, and as far south as Panama where she began learning Spanish. She attended high school in Houston, moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas, and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston to pursue a career in surgery.
After three years of training in general surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, she received fellowship training in burn surgery and resident training in plastic surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She spent two months receiving coveted training with renowned plastic surgeons Drs. Daniel Baker, Sherell Aston, Gerald Pitman, and many others at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. Although offered cosmetic surgery fellowship training at MEETH, she pursued private practice of plastic surgery in the city that held her heart, Austin, Texas.
One of the few female plastic surgeons in Austin, Dr. Rhoad is one of only 9.4% female board-certified plastic surgeons (by the American Board of Plastic Surgery – ABPS) in the United States. The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Austin Society of Plastic Surgeons. She also holds privileges at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital, and St. David’s Medical Center.

A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.
With the knowledge and commitment to help patients look and feel fabulous, Dr. Rhoad has received various awards and honors throughout her career, including the Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2013, 2014), Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award (2014), America’s Top Plastic Surgeon (2010), and Best Austin Doctors, Plastic Surgery by Austin Monthly (2013).
On a more personal note, she is the third of four sisters.
