Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Francisco J. Pabalan, who serves patients in Riverside, California.
Dr. Pabalan, a respected ophthalmologist, is the Founder & President of Pabalan Eye Center in Riverside, California. With over 35 years experience in eye surgery and ophthalmology care, he has been an innovator in the field of ophthalmology, bringing the latest eye research, developments, and technologies to his practice.
Pabalan Eye Center is a full service eye care provider, accepting both eye emergencies as well as scheduled appointments. Patients throughout the Inland Empire area come to the practice because they know they will receive the personal attention and professional care that is their foundation.
For senior eye health, Dr. Pabalan specializes in rapid recovery, sutureless, outpatient vision correction cataract surgery under topical anesthesia. For patients with significant astigmatism and cataracts, he uses the latest Staar Toric foldable intraocular lens implant. This special astigmatism-correcting implant allows the aim of cataract surgery in many patients to be vision improvement, not just vision restoration.
With a one-on-one approach to eye care, Dr. Pabalan also offers multifocal intraocular lens implants for cataract repair. These advanced technology implants are designed to allow the eye to see better at both distance and near, without complete dependence on glasses.
Back in 1981, Dr. Pabalan graduated with his medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He then went on to complete his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
For four years, he served the military as staff ophthalmologist in the US Air Force at March AFB, then opened the first full time private ophthalmology practice in Moreno Valley, California in 1990. Pabalan Eye Center has now transitioned to a new high tech facility in Riverside.
Dedicated to providing high-quality ophthalmology services, Dr. Pabalan also serves as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Riverside Community Hospital.
Committed to providing advanced vision care, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Pabalan is an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the Riverside County Medical Association.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. Ophthalmologists are also surgeons. They repair traumatic injuries to the eye and may perform cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery.
Among Dr. Pabalan’s various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2014).
