Transforming Sleep Medicine with Mobile Technology and a Patient-Centric Approach
Dr. Lim, a dedicated physician and the Founder of Redwood Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Associates (also known as Redwood Pulmonary Medical Associates, or RPMA), is a pioneer in pulmonary medicine, critical care, and sleep disorders. Established in January 2002, the practice has evolved into a leading medical group, dedicated to enhancing patient care through innovative approaches and community involvement.
Located within Sequoia Hospital, RPMA has always prioritized the needs of its patients. With the growing demand for sleep care services, Dr. Lim recognized a crucial gap in the market. In response, she founded MobileSleepDoc, LLC in 2012, integrating mobile technology and virtual care into a comprehensive software platform. This initiative led to the formation of Somnology, Inc. in 2015, which now provides national sleep care solutions with a staff of experienced clinicians, technologists, and engineers, ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care regardless of their location.
Her journey began in Akron, Ohio, where she developed her down-to-earth, Midwestern sensibilities that have profoundly shaped her practice. After graduating from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, she honed her clinical skills during her internship and residency at Boston City Hospital. Her fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospitals and the University of California, San Francisco, equipped her with specialized training in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Lim’s clinical interests cover a wide range of areas, including lung cancer, obstructive lung disease, respiratory infections, acute respiratory failure, and sleep-related breathing disorders. She is passionate about collaborative care and is committed to finding creative solutions to complex medical challenges. Her enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring has made her a beloved figure among her colleagues and trainees.
Outside of her medical practice, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and following baseball. She also practices Filipino martial arts, listens to music, and loves to cook, especially traditional dishes inspired by her mother. Most importantly, she cherishes the time spent with family and friends.
As RPMA embarks on its next chapter, Dr. Lim and her dedicated team remain committed to providing exceptional care, utilizing cutting-edge technology, and fostering a supportive environment for all patients.
