Serving as the Founder of the Jacob Center for Advanced Orthopaedics, his goal is to return an individual to their preinjury level of function by offering a wide gamut of effective treatment modalities. This includes both nonoperative and operative treatments, supervised activity-specific physical therapy, and interventional pain management.
Along with the treatment of immediate or chronic problems, Dr. Jacob strives to integrate the doctrine of prevention in all his treatment plans as a way to alleviate possible future difficulties. He likes to take an interdisciplinary approach when treating patients since this has proven to be successful in even the most demanding athlete. This includes specialties like physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, and chiropractic medicine in addition to the orthopaedic surgical interventions that he provides.
Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, Dr. Jacob went on to perform his internship in general surgery at Saint Vincent’s Hospital – Manhattan. He then went on to complete his residency in orthopaedic surgery at New York Medical College, followed by his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine and adult reconstruction at the University of South Alabama’s Center for Joint Restoration under the direction of Albert Pearsall IV, MD.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), he is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.
Furthermore, the doctor is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
A published author and public speaker, Dr. Jacob is highly regarded by his peers and is actively involved in the development and successful implementation of the latest and most innovative surgical techniques and procedures.
