Neville James McDonald, BDS, MS, FICD, FACD, is a leading endodontist, Clinical Professor of Dentistry and the Division Head and Graduate program director of Endodontics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After earning his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Otagom in Dunedin, New Zealand, Dr. McDonald completed his endodontic education and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He serves as a at the University of Michigan. His research interests are electronic apex locators, instrumentation systems, and endodontic surgery, especially regeneration techniques. Dr. McDonald has interests in the ethical and legal aspects of endodontics and the use of human subjects in clinical research. He is a past president of the Phi Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Maryland State Association of Endodontists and is a recipient of the American Association of Endodontists Award of Merit and an honorary member of the Svrakov Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. Additionally, in order to stay up to date on all medical advancements in his field, he maintains a professional membership with the American Association of Endodontists, the Royal Australasian College of Dentists, and the American Dental Association.
