Board-certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Thakur is currently serving Marshall and the surrounding communities. In regards to his education, Dr. Thakur received his Medical Degree from Butler University in 1999. 

Dr. Thakur is board certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1937 to provide board certification to individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of surgery. 

Vascular Surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, or arteries, veins and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Thakur diagnoses and treats vascular diseases and performs vascular surgeries. Common conditions that a vascular surgeon treats are aneurysms, atherosclerosis and varicose veins. Vascular specialists might also treat trauma, venous ulcers, poor leg circulation, peripheral arterial disease and other vascular-related issues.
