Valerie M. Harvey, MD, MPH earned her undergraduate, and medical degree, from the University of Virginia. She completed her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and received a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As a board-certified dermatologist with over 12 years of experience treating both common and uncommon skin conditions, Dr. Harvey provides advanced patient-centered care for diseases of the skin, hair, and nails including acne, eczema, psoriasis, moles, and skin cancer. She is currently practicing in Newport News, VA. Dr. Harvey also holds a particular interest in pigmentary disorders and skin conditions which disproportionately affect minority patient populations. Her research efforts have focused on studying disparities in melanoma outcomes and utilization of dermatologic services among the underserved. Dr. Harvey is a well-published lecturer at regional and national meetings on these topics. A native of New York, Dr. Harvey is married and mother to three girls.
