Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Sharleen Sidhu, who serves patients in Greenbrae and Novato, California.

A leading endocrinologist, Dr. Sidhu is in practice with MarinHealth Endocrine & Diabetes Care | A UCSF Health Clinic, operating out of the offices in Greenbrae and Novato, California. Her areas of interest include diabetes and thyroid disorders, including thyroid cancer.

Additionally, Dr. Sidhu not only serves as the Medical Director for MarinHealth Endocrine & Diabetes care but also holds the role of Medical Director at the MarinHealth Braden Diabetes Center, overseeing comprehensive services for adults with Type 1, Type 2, and prediabetes. This includes individualized care, self-management education programs, and nutrition therapy.

Dedicated to evidence-based medicine, Dr. Sidhu ensures optimal care for her patients. She emphasizes a team approach, collaborating with primary care physicians to address patient concerns comprehensively and leaving them well-informed and satisfied with their treatment plans.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Sidhu graduated with her Medical Degree from SSR Medical College – Belle Rive, Mauritius. She then went on to perform her internship at Balrampur Hospital in India, after which she relocated to the United States.

Once there, she pursued her residency at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois, followed by her fellowship at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Additionally, she holds a Master of Public Health Degree from John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

As a recognized expert in her field, Dr. Sidhu is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, & metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Aligning with her commitment to achieving higher standards for better patient care in an evolving healthcare landscape, Dr. Sidhu is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society.

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, parathyroid disorders as well as adrenal and pituitary among others.

In her free time, Dr. Sidhu likes to travel, learn about different cultures, cook healthy meals, and exercise. She enjoys hiking, spinning and running – all of which keep her active on a daily basis.
